Spark is a lean and growing 501c3 nonprofit that is dedicated to providing cutting edge resources, education, and programs for students become clean energy innovators. This fall we're launching a landmark year - rolling out major programs across the country.
Interns will be a critical part of making that happen - working directly with the Director of Outreach and Student Programs to support our programs in these areas:
Social Media, Marketing, and Design Intern
These interns will be responsible for developing and implementing social media campaigns, with an emphasis on creating deeply engaging content for active members and prospects alike. Applicants should have proficiency in graphic design and marketing, with some experience with website building. Spark Clean Energy uses a drag-and-drop web design platform. However, there will be some CSS and HTML work. When applying for this position, please submit design samples.
Regional Outreach Intern
Each intern will build relationships with universities, student energy clubs, and other relevant stakeholders in one of eight regions of the country. They will recruit student leaders and empower them to plan activity on their campuses. We will be managing events in 26 cities across the country, bringing together students, industry partners, and other stakeholders to launch our campaign. Each intern will be responsible for coordinating activity in three or four of these cities. The program will start with a kickoff in late September, requiring coordinating speakers and other details. Good organization, management, and interpersonal skills will be key.
The positions are unpaid, however the internships will provide excellent training and exposure for anyone considering a future in clean tech, commercialization, business plan competitions, or energy and environmental nonprofits. We're happy to help students to receive college credit. Interns will work remotely, so this internship is not limited to a specific location. We expect a minimum commitment of 10-15 hours per week starting late-August. The application deadline is August 15th, however we may accept candidates on a rolling basis after that date.
