Survey Research Center adds MetricWire to TRACE Portfolio

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State's Survey Research Center (SRC) recently acquired an enterprise-level MetricWire license to enhance its research capabilities and remain at the forefront of mobile data collection methodologies. This addition will allow researchers to conduct sophisticated Ecological Momentary Assessment (EMA), Daily Diary and Digital Intervention studies with greater ease and efficiency.

MetricWire, a platform for mobile data collection and real-time participant engagement, will be integrated into the SRC's TRACE services. This addition to the portfolio aligns with the SRC’s commitment to facilitating innovative research across various disciplines.

This integration offers Penn State faculty and students access to MetricWire licenses at significantly reduced costs through the SRC. Investigators, both affiliated with Penn State and external partners, will be able to choose between three distinct levels of platform access in conjunction with programming and project support offered through the SRC, based on project and investigator needs.

First, the SRC can provide investigators with their own independent MetricWire license at a reduced cost. With this option investigators will have full programming and project management autonomy and have will have full access to their data through a personal dashboard.

Second, investigators can design, customize and implement data collection projects on a license held by the SRC at further reduced cost. Researchers choosing this option can set up a project with the SRC project managers, who will provide a full suite of project management and programming services to program and deploy surveys as well as provide comprehensive data management services.

Finally, for those collecting pilot data or for students collecting data for the purpose of thesis/dissertation projects, access to the enterprise-level license will be provided at no cost. Any additional time/services utilized beyond software access will have associated costs.
