Teachers will have the opportunity to participate and collaborate with leading researchers in the area of pollinator and plant-pollinator landscape research, CSATS science educators, and educators from across Pennsylvania. You will spend a week at Penn State learning about ongoing cutting-edge plant-pollinator research at the Penn State Center for Pollinator Research (CPR) and various research techniques used in this interdisciplinary field. With support from the APPL-RED team, you will develop a research project to implement with your students in the 2017-2018 academic year. The classroom research project will incorporate learnings from the workshop, data collected by Dr. Christina Grozinger and others at the CPR as well as plant-pollinator interaction data collected by Master Gardeners of Pennsylvania. Preference will be given for collaborative teams of teachers from the same school or district.
