Penn State Graduate Student Kaitlin McCormick is conducting three one-hour focus groups with Penn State faculty women from STEM departments before Thanksgiving. The point of the focus groups is to fine-tune items in the Workplace Activity for Gender Equity Simulation (WAGES) to better represent the experiences of women faculty in STEM. WAGES illustrates the cumulative effects of unconscious bias in academic STEM fields through a board game-like activity (http://wages.la.psu.edu/), using game items based on empirical research. The researchers are especially interested in connecting with Latina, African American, and Asian American faculty women.

Each focus group session will last one hour and will be held in the Moore Building on campus.

For your participation you will receive $10 and be entered in a drawing to win a $100 Amazon gift card (better than a 1 in 30 chance!). Refreshments will also be provided at the session.

Please contact Kaitlin at ktm149@psu.edu if you are interested in participating and let her know which noon hours and Friday afternoons could work for you.
